This study examines the concept of identity in an age greatly influenced by social media. It analyses the concept of identity in an era where the characters drift apart and reconciled in a world where communication plays a vital role through the social media. The issue of identity prevails despite the fact that an individual's identity plays a vital role in shaping his personality. This also, is dependent on the individual's acceptance of himself. This essay demonstrates that identity as depicted in the novel goes beyond the usual misconceptions attached to the black skin but touchesits tentacles on how it affects the individuals.
